Where I’m mowing

Redmond is in King County.

Mowing in Redmond

Redmond gives me two mowing starts a mile apart. Sammamish valley lawns sit on river alluvium with a shallow water table and stay soft late. Plateau lawns perch water on Alderwood hardpan instead and dry sooner. Neither takes a mower well in early spring, but they get there on different weeks, which is why I schedule the two halves of Redmond separately.

Whatever the ground is doing, the cut is the same: 2 to 3 inches, and never more than a third of the blade at once. That is WSU guidance, not a house rule, and it is why I would rather move your day than cut a soaked lawn short.

Mowing in Redmond — FAQ

Do you mow in Redmond?

Yes. Redmond sits in King County, and it is on my mowing routes. I also work Kirkland, Bellevue, Sammamish and Woodinville. Send the address and I will tell you straight rather than guess.

How does mowing pricing work?

By lawn size, per visit. Weekly starts at $55 and every other week starts at $65, both up to 3,000 sq ft, then $5 for each additional 500 sq ft. Every price includes Washington sales tax.

Why does every other week cost more per visit than weekly?

Because there is two weeks of growth to cut. The visit takes longer and produces more clippings, so it prices higher per visit even though you get fewer visits.

What is included in a visit?

Mow, edge, trim around obstacles, and blow the clippings off walkways, driveways and patios. Front, back and side yards. No add-on fee for any of that.

What is not included?

Bed weeding, hedge and shrub trimming, leaf cleanup and general landscaping are not part of a standard mow. Ask about them separately and I will tell you if I can do it.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No. Start, pause for the winter, or stop whenever you want. No contract, no auto-renew, no cancellation fee.

Do I need to know my lawn size?

No. Send the address and I measure it from satellite — that is what the price is based on.

What happens if it rains on my day?

A soaked lawn tears rather than cuts, and the mower ruts it. If your day is too wet I text you and move it, usually within the same week.

Do you do aeration too?

Yes, separately from mowing. Core aeration is priced by lawn size starting at $120.
