Lakewood inverts the usual advice. On Spanaway outwash prairie, rated somewhat excessively drained with high hydraulic conductivity, the ground carries a mower earlier in spring than anywhere else I work — it simply does not hold the water. The problem arrives in July, when it dries out fast. Cutting at the top of the WSU 2 to 3 inch range shades the crowns and is worth more here than anywhere on my routes.
Whatever the ground is doing, the cut is the same: 2 to 3 inches, and never more than a third of the blade at once. That is WSU guidance, not a house rule, and it is why I would rather move your day than cut a soaked lawn short.

Because there is two weeks of growth to cut. The visit takes longer and produces more clippings, so it prices higher per visit even though you get fewer visits.
Mow, edge, trim around obstacles, and blow the clippings off walkways, driveways and patios. Front, back and side yards. No add-on fee for any of that.
Bed weeding, hedge and shrub trimming, leaf cleanup and general landscaping are not part of a standard mow. Ask about them separately and I will tell you if I can do it.
No. Start, pause for the winter, or stop whenever you want. No contract, no auto-renew, no cancellation fee.
No. Send the address and I measure it from satellite — that is what the price is based on.
A soaked lawn tears rather than cuts, and the mower ruts it. If your day is too wet I text you and move it, usually within the same week.
